    InstructionsTravelling in avalanche terrain requires advanced knowledge, experience in route finding and ability to identify the avalanche problem. Generally, it is recommended to avoid avalanche terrain. Avalanches may hit some avalanche-exposed roads and occasionally settlements.

  2. Applies to Ofoten and Soer-Troms

    Thursday and early Friday is expected locally much snow, 20-40cm during 24 hours. More snow in heights.

    InstructionsAllow some extra time for transportation and driving. Use tires fit for winter conditions and use caution while driving.

    ConsequencesTravel time may increase on some journeys. Local driving conditions may become difficult. Blowing snow at higher altitudes causes reduced visibility and possibly convoys and/or closed roads.

    Landslides may be expected. Exposed railways and roads may be closed. Risk of slushflows is especially high in areas with more than 50 cm snow. The snow may in some places be fully water-saturated. Slushflows are triggered even in relatively gentle slopes, where water accumulates. Slushflows follow terrain depressions and may develop into debris flows. Heavy snowmelt is expected. Heavy rain is expected.
