Detailed weather statistics for Aksla, Moskenes (Nordland)
Applies to deler av Nordland og Troms
Landslides are expected, some with considerable consequences. Large slides may reach settlements, roads and railways. Risk of slushflows is especially high in areas with more than 50 cm snow. The snow may in some places be fully water-saturated. Slushflows are triggered even in relatively gentle slopes, where water accumulates. Slushflows follow terrain depressions and may develop into debris flows. Rain is expected, followed by heavy showers in some places. Relatively high temperatures and windy conditions causes significant snowmelting.

ConsequencesLarger loose items may be taken by the wind. Risk of damage to buildings and infrastructure. Cancelled departures for ferry, plane, or other transport expected. Bridges may be closed. Many journeys may have longer travel times. Blowing snow at higher altitudes causes reduced visibility and possibly convoys and/or closed roads. High waves may cause damage to infrastructure and buildings in the coastal zone. The strong wind may cause locally high waves in fjords and lakes.
