    InstructionsTravelling in avalanche terrain requires advanced knowledge, experience in route finding and ability to identify the avalanche problem. Generally, it is recommended to avoid avalanche terrain. Avalanches may hit some avalanche-exposed roads and occasionally settlements.

  3. Applies to Nordland and Troms

    Tuesday to Wednesday afternoon it is expected above zero temperatures and a lot of rain in Nordland and Troms. It is expected 30-60mm precipitation in 24 hours, on Helgeland locally 60-90mm.

    ConsequencesRisk of flooding of low-lying areas in densely populated areas. Check varsom.no for more information. Locally difficult driving conditions, especially at waterways. Roads may be closed. Road conditions affected with road spray and hydroplaning in some places.

    A polar low is now in position 69 degrees north 0 degrees west. The low is moving southeast and and is this evening expected to make landfall in the southern part of Helgeland. The wind is expected to be severe gale force 9 or storm force 10 near the polar low, with heavy snow showers.
